I am absolutely loving CORE PE!! I have always felt like a strong teacher, but I’ve avoided skill themes I don’t personally excel in for fear of not knowing how to teach what I don’t know. Thanks to just a few weeks with CORE PE, my students and I are learning together with confidence and ease.
The CORE PE program definitely helped me shape the scope and sequence of my curriculum for the entire school year. I sat down at the beginning of the year with the Yearly Planning Guide and picked the skills I wanted to highlight and then mapped out which part of the year we would touch on each one.

It is absolutely amazing! CORE PE allows me to teach the fun activities that I have grown to love but the tool helps me to unpack all of the standards and also have them aligned vertically. I use the CORE PE curriculum mostly for my indirect consultative services. I find the resources invaluable for helping train teachers to deliver high quality PE. The printable skills indexes are super helpful to guide my teachers with I CAN statements and overall unit development. The ability to provide a guided outline of skills helps keep my new or weaker teachers on track. The skill breakdowns are critical for me to help teachers understand how to create skill development. I love the new layouts and color-coded wheel. It helps my teachers know that this is only a portion of the skill in the curriculum and helps with what order to teach them in.
With one word... assessment. For every breakdown the bullet points are the assessment. Did they do it or not do it? Once they do the ones (skills) at the top, you keep going down the list. So wherever they are, if they can show all three cues, plus one in the next section, they move to the next section. This answers, ‘Why did my kid get a B, not an A?’ or ‘Why a 3, not a 4?’
