Do 1 Tiny Thing

Build new habits with tiny things!

Use an existing routine as a reminder, then add one “tiny thing” to start building your new habit.

Actionable Examples provided by CORE PE

PLANNING

Once you’ve decided which Standard 1 motor skill & GSLI to focus on in your lesson plan, try this “tiny thing”:

  • Add one thing that develops a sense of community to the lesson plan from Standard 3.

CORE PE has grids with developmental level breakdowns to help you add social skills to your planning.

SKILL BREAKDOWN

After discussing the Standard 3 student learning outcomes for the lesson, do this “tiny thing”:
  • During activity, use the grid to provide specific feedback on one skill breakdown cue to a single student.
This approach keeps feedback manageable, instead of addressing multiple cues or students at once.

ASSESSMENT

After providing adequate practice time and specific feedback with the provided breakdown cues, consider this “tiny thing”:
  • Which single student is not at proficiency?
Beginning by helping one student limits overwhelm in assessment.
